Visions Autism Center will be offering social groups this summer for children with autism and other developmental differences. Groups are created to match children and teens with peers that are similar in age with similar social needs. Girl Power Group Ages 13-17
* This group is designed for girls with aspergers or other developmental differences experiencing difficulties with social issues and friendships in school and social settings.
Pre to Teen Group Ages 11-14
* This group will focus on developing and maintaining friendships, building self esteem, appropriate social interactions and team building activities.
Excellent Elementary Ages 8-10
* This group is for children on the autism spectrum and other developmental differences and will focus on appropriate social interactions, building friendships, building self esteem and developing leisure activities in and out of group situation.
Social Pairings
If your child is in need of social skills and you do not feel as though any of the above groups will be a good fit for your child or does not fit the ages listed above, we offer social pairing when possible. Social pairings are small groups of children or teens paired together to benefit each participant and may include peers as well. These pairings are for students that will benefit from a smaller, more intimate, less overwhelming setting. We strive to pair students with appropriate pairs so an interview is necessary to pair the groups or pairs up with each other. These groups can be scheduled at the discretion of the therapist and with the input of the family.
